Echoing the excitement of their counterparts across Nigeria, petty traders and artisans in Udua Itam and Akpan Andem markets in Akwa Ibom state received TraderMoni with great joy and relief. Imo Anasonye in Aba, Enobong Sunday, a vegetable seller in Uyo expressed her gratitude to the Federal Government for the TraderMoni initiative when it was launched on the 21st of August.
Traders in Akwa-Ibom got access to loans without any form of collateral. With this microcredit scheme, petty traders get LOANS that are interest and collateral free but not FREE money. After the loans are repaid, they become eligible to access more loans.
